I really loved the overall idea of this project I remember seeing past classes' and always hoped to get this opportunity. I really like antiques and old things so to be able to make something more aged than what is really is was interesting to me. I kinda wish i would have stained the paper with more tea bags to give it a more old and dingy look. But I think it works. I'll say the most complicated part of this piece was not being able to show the full invention. I struggle with having something look very complete or detailed so this kind of took me back a couple steps.
I wanted my composition to be triangular so that I could have the viewer look around the paper and that I could utilize each side of the paper in a sense. I did research and saw that DaVinci used a reddish brown or burnt sienna colored conte and I really liked how it looked. I never used this colored conte so it was challenging at first because its not very forgiving and its thick. I loved shading with this it was very pleasing to my eyes. I also used a yellow alcoholic ink to stain the paper so that it would give a real yucky sense that it has been deteriorating for a long time. Of course burning was fun i actually ripped a huge chunk out of the piece and i felt like it helped the composition and just became more interesting.
The invention itself is a peaceful bunny droid. In the arms of the bunny it releases hormones that sprinkle over the world where stressed or feeling anything but positive, When they go into the bloodstream everyone becomes happy no need to feel anger or sadness anything. It flies around with wings that emits a really radiant bright light that gives you a sense of warmth and safe feeling. On the actual bunny's face there are rotating cheeks that instantly give you a loopy yet happy feeling as well. Overall I'm happy with my last project of my college career!
